How to easily clean the grout space between floor tiles and keep it clean

Whichever way, less time on chores means more time for being pretty, isn't it ?

Yet wet floor-mop vacuums are great.

Various brands and models exist at prices from 220$.

Mopping vacuums have a tank for cleansing solution, rotating microfiber mop system, suction turbine and finally a tank for the dirty stuff.

A dry portable battery operated vac is also welcome since "moppers" can not really pick chunks or dried cat food.

Grout, the spaces between floor tiles, is a traditional housewife's nightmare.

Wet mop vacuums can keep them clean but are mostly unable to clean heavily loaded with dirt grout.

I have tried all sorts of dedicated grout cleaning products and my conclusion is that the most expensive are the less effective.

No joy until in desperation I tried heavier stuff. Overdose of car rim cleaning spray.

Yep, the thing that dissolves brake-pads dust and renders your rims nice and shiny.

Soon my kitchen looked like Venice less the gondolas drifting in the flooded with rim cleaner grout channels.

Ratio temporis, time is always right. Like all cleaning solutions, liquid rim cleaner will work, dissolve the nasty stuff, as long as it remains liquid.

After several hours all was almost dry. Time for the beast, the mighty wet floor mopping vacuum.

Within minutes the collection tank filled with dark heavy goo.

Once dry my grout spaces were white again, like they used to be decades ago. Victory !

No hand scrubbing, no steel brushes, technology had prevailed.

Keeping them clean with time proved rather easy, as easy as replacing the originally recommended detergent with rim cleaner.

Shiny clean floors fast and with minimum efforts.

So dear Sisters, chores are chores, money is money yet those wet mopping vacs are worth every cent of their price-tag.
