Sandpaper or Velcro in bras to prevent collapsed nipples ? Yes !

This weekend we visited a lady, confident friend of ours who will have her first baby pretty soon.

Since I have never been and can not be impregnated (never mind it was tried on several occasions...), my place was more outside of the non-smoking premises.

However my bra expertise came in handy and I was called to join the lady's talks.

What could be the best cup shape to prevent collapsed nipples ?

Collapsed nipples ? What the ... ?

Happens that breasts are not always as perky as they should be and, on occasions such as lactation, this can be quite a show-stopper.

Obviously I advocated against anything but pointy CrossYourHeart, Dorina's and specifically structured nursing bras. No pre-molded one piece cups or alike titty splashers, bralettes, bandeaux.

The kind of bras that I adore,

Nipples need projection and adore their freedom to explore sharply pointed cups.

Then added that, from personal experience, wearing rough Velcro pads during the day keeps my nipples stubborn to the point that even minimizer bras can not subdue for hours.

Laughter.

Then more seriously, surprise...

Happens that our friend has in fact heard of an old grand-mother recipe involving sandpaper or rough itchy fabrics. However she took it as a nonsensical urban legend.

Reportedly wearing patches of very rough sandpaper or itchy stuff during pregnancy can contribute to healthier fully serviceable perky nipples.

Then explained how to quickly fabricate Velcro pads using just sticky tape, like the ones that I wear now. Yes, they come cheap and can be disposed when soiled or worn-out.
